  • 2 whites Egg whites Whipped and folded into the dough.
Liquid Ingredients
  • 1 cup Buttermilk Optional for certain recipes, adjust based on other ingredients used.
  • 1 cup Milk Can replace buttermilk in some recipes.
Flavor Enhancers
  • 1 teaspoon Vinegar Helps enhance leavening when using baking powder.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. If using yeast, dissolve it in warm water and allow it to activate for 5-10 minutes.
  2. If using baking powder, measure it according to your recipe.
  3. For sourdough, ensure your starter is bubbly and active.
Mixing
  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  2. In another bowl, mix all the wet ingredients, ensuring they are at room temperature.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pour the batter into a greased bread pan.
  3. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cooling
  1. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
