Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For gluten-free, substitute with almond flour.
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Can substitute with raspberries or cherries.
Ganache Ingredients
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Simmered to make ganache.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, melt the unsalted butter in the microwave or on the stove. Stir in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Don’t forget to add the vanilla extract.
  4. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt together. Gradually incorporate them into the buttery mixture until just blended.
  5. Gently fold in the sliced strawberries, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  2. While the brownies are baking, make the chocolate ganache. Simmer the heavy cream in a saucepan until it starts to bubble.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in the chocolate chips until the mixture is silky and smooth.
  4. Once the brownies are fully baked, allow them to cool completely before pouring the ganache over the top.
  5. Let the ganache set before cutting the brownies into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

These brownies are great alone or served with vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to four days or freeze for longer storage. Add a touch of orange zest or alternative chocolate types for variation.
