  • 3 pieces ripe bananas Choose very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness.
  • 1/3 cup honey Can be substituted with maple syrup for vegan option.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Can be substituted with a gluten-free blend.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas until well combined.
  4. Add the honey, vanilla extract, and egg, mixing until everything is nicely incorporated.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, stirring gently to combine.
  6. Gradually fold in the flour, mixing just until you see no dry flour remains.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top if necessary.
Baking
  1. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days or freeze wrapped tightly for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature or toast slices before serving.
