  • 2-3 lbs beef roast Consider a chuck roast for a richer flavor.
  • 1 unit onion, sliced
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup beef broth Use low-sodium if desired.
  • 1 cup French onion soup Can substitute with beef broth and sautéed onions.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • pieces Baguette or hoagie rolls
  • slices provolone cheese Can substitute with mozzarella, Swiss, or cheddar.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the beef roast in the Crockpot.
  2. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the meat.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the beef broth, French onion soup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the beef.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the beef is tender.
  5. Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks.
  6. Serve it on a baguette or hoagie rolls, topped with provolone cheese.
  7. Serve with a small bowl of au jus for dipping.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
