  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Can substitute with carob powder.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Whole wheat or gluten-free flour can be used.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional for extra indulgence.
Equipment
  • 1 piece heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • 1 piece 8-inch square baking pan Greased and lined with parchment paper.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
  3. Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
  4. Stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Add 1/3 cup of cocoa powder, 1/2 cup of flour, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder. Stir until just combined.
  6. If desired, fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
  2. Cut into heart shapes using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  3. Serve and enjoy your sweet creations!

Notes

For a fudgier texture, slightly underbake the brownies. Consider serving with vanilla ice cream or drizzled with chocolate sauce.
