Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 12 sheets Lasagna sheets, fresh or dried Spinach-infused or traditional
For the Meat Sauce
  • 1 lb Ground beef or sausage For a classic meat sauce
  • 2 cups Tomato sauce Use a rich variety
  • 1 cup Aromatics (onions, garlic) Sauté until soft
For the Cheese Layers
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese For creaminess
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded For topping and layering
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated For a flavorful crust
Additional Fillings
  • 1 cup Vegetables (spinach or zucchini) Popular in vegetarian versions

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the meat sauce by sautéing the aromatics until soft, then adding ground meat and browning it.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce and simmer for about 15 minutes.
Layering
  1. In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom.
  2. Add a layer of lasagna sheets, followed by a layer of ricotta and mozzarella cheese.
  3. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of mozzarella and grated Parmesan on top.
Baking
  1. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  3. Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For no-bake versions, ensure all ingredients are fully cooked before assembly. Use fresh pasta for best results.
