Brownie Batter Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Can substitute with salted butter; reduce salt slightly.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Can substitute with almond extract.
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Can substitute with melted chocolate; reduce sugar.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute half with almond flour for a gluten-free version.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, being careful not to let it sizzle.
  3. Remove the melted butter from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually beat in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until no lumps remain.
  5. Spread the brownie batter evenly into your prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, checking for doneness with the toothpick test.
  7. Allow brownies to cool before cutting them into squares.

Notes

For serving, pair warm brownies with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or fresh berries. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer preservation.
