  • 4 slices cheese (optional) Choose for extra flavor.
  • 1 cup sliced tomatoes Fresh or your preferred topping.
  • 1 cup sliced onions (raw or caramelized) Caramelized for sweetness or raw for bite.
  • 1 cup sliced pickles
  • 1 medium avocado (sliced or mashed) For creaminess.
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp sugar-free ketchup (optional) Low-carb option.

Method

Preparing the Burger Patties
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground meat with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into round, flat patties.
  3. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side or until cooked through (internal temperature 160°F/71°C). If using cheese, place a slice on top during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Preparing the Lettuce Wraps
  1. Select large, intact lettuce leaves that can hold the patty and toppings. Wash and pat them dry.
  2. Use two or more overlapping lettuce leaves for each wrap for added strength.
Assembling the Lettuce Wrap Burger
  1. Lay the prepared lettuce leaves flat on a plate.
  2. Place the cooked patty in the center of the lettuce.
  3. Add your choice of sliced tomatoes, onions, pickles, and avocado.
  4. Mix the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and optional ketchup for the sauce and drizzle it over the toppings.
  5. Fold the lettuce leaves around the burger and toppings, securing them tightly.
Serving the Burger
  1. Serve immediately for the best texture.
  2. Pair with keto-friendly sides like coleslaw or roasted vegetables.

Notes

Ensure to select sturdy lettuce and avoid overstuffing to keep wraps intact.
