Method
Preparing the Lettuce
- Gently remove whole leaves from the iceberg and butterhead lettuce heads, taking care to avoid tearing.
- Wash each leaf under cold water to remove dirt and debris.
- Dry the leaves thoroughly using a salad spinner or patting them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- Trim any thick ribs or stems from the lettuce leaves as needed.
Arranging the Lettuce Leaves
- Lay 2-3 lettuce leaves on a flat surface, overlapping their edges to create a solid base.
- Make sure the smooth side of the leaves is facing outward for a polished appearance.
Placing the Patty and Toppings
- Place the burger patty in the center or slightly lower on the lettuce leaves.
- Add cheese and layer toppings such as tomatoes, onions, and pickles evenly over the patty.
- Use a small amount of sauce to prevent the wrap from becoming too slippery.
Folding and Securing the Wrap
- Fold the bottom of the lettuce up over the patty to create a secure base.
- Bring the sides of the lettuce toward the center, enclosing the patty and toppings.
- Press gently to secure the wrap and adjust the edges as needed.
Notes
Serve immediately for the best texture. Use parchment paper to help keep the wrap secure while eating.
