Preparation
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and strawberry flavoring, mixing until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Chill the dough for 30–45 minutes to prevent spreading.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll the chilled dough into small balls and coat them in granulated sugar.
- Place the coated dough balls on a baking sheet.
- Bake until the cookies are set but still soft, about 10-12 minutes.
- Press a chocolate kiss gently into the center of each cookie immediately after removing them from the oven.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 4–5 days. For freezing, store cookies without kisses for up to 2 months.
