Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined—don’t overmix!
  4. Fold in the diced apples, ensuring they’re evenly distributed in the batter.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and spray the basket lightly with oil.
Cooking
  1. Using a spoon, drop dollops of the fritter batter into the basket, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  2. Air fry for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until they’re golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm. You can dress them up with powdered sugar or warm caramel sauce, or enjoy with a scoop of ice cream. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or refrigerated for a week.
